About the test:
The CET is the entrance examination for the Master of Management Studies (MMS) and Management of Business Administration (MBA). The CET is of two and a half hours duration and would have multiple choice objective type questions of maximum 200 marks and would not have negative marking. The admission notifications appear in the newspapers. Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education and is accepted by over 80 institutes in Maharashtra. The entrance test will be held on one day for all the CET centres across Maharashtra. Approximately a month after the written test, the candidates who obtain the minimum cut off score are shortlisted for the Group Discussion and Interview. The GD and Interview scores are added to the written test scores. Besides these scores, some points are also allocated for academic achievements and work experience. Students who qualify after the GD and interview are short- listed for admission.
Eligibility :
Anyone with a recognized Graduate degree can apply and should have secured a minimum of 50%. Students who have appeared for their final year can also apply. There is no age limit as such.

Information brochure along with the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the identified post offices mentioned below only during contact hours (excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.
For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to check the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo and signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit. Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.
In order to take the printout of the online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the online sub application form and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for further processing.

Test Discription:
The CET comprises of multiple choice objective type questions in the areas of Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical/Abstract Reasoning. In all there would be 200 questions to be answered in a total time of two and half hours (i.e. One hundred and fifty minutes). The questions are an assorted variety, where the question types are distributed across the question paper.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension:
Passages with questions based on the passage to test your comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms, Comprehension, Choice of Appropriate words, phrases, expressions and similar language skills
Quantitative Aptitude:
Numbers, arithmetic Problems, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage, quantitative reasoning, interpretation of tables, common graphs and charts, etc.
Logical /Abstract Reasoning:
Questions based on figures/diagrams and also questions on verbal reasoning.
